Bio

I hold a PhD in Politics from the University of York (2024), MA in International Relations from the San Tiago Dantas Graduate Programme (2017), and a BA in International Relations from the Federal University of Pampa (2014). Currently, I am a First Book Award fellow at the Independent Social Research Foundation (ISRF), based at the Department of International Development, King’s College London. During this fellowship (2026-2027), I am working on my book, The New Christian Militarism: Evangelicalism, The Police, and Far-Right Order-Building in Brazil, which will be published by Manchester University Press in 2028.

Research

I am an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersections of religion, militarism, and far-right politics. My current research agenda focuses on the global dimensions of Evangelical activism within police and military institutions, and now I am scaling this research to internationally by including the US and South Africa. My work draws on extensive ethnographic experience in Brazil, Western Sahara, Egypt and England.

Teaching

I have worked as a lecturer at King’s College London (International Development) and at the Federal University of Pelotas (International Relations), and as a teaching assistant at the University of York (International Relations and Sociology). I have experience in postgraduate and undergraduate settings. Some of the modules I have convened include Introduction to Qualitative Methods; Democracy, Authoritarianism and the State in Development; International Security; International Relations Theory; Geopolitics.
